Decorating your home with glass tables and vases

Glass furniture – the easiest way to incorporate glass in the interiors of your home, is through the use of glass furniture. The list of glass furniture that includes vases, tables and mirrors is simply vast. Table tops made of glass in home offices and dining rooms creates an executive and sophisticated feel to your home interior. Alternatively, you may also pair glass with leather, by using a glass vase on your glass top table to go with your leather sofa set!!! So many combinations!

Use glass as an exterior material – in the earlier days, glass was only used in the walls to create a small opening in order to allow in light. However, today glass is widely used as an exterior material in commercial and high rise buildings. For your home, you may use glass for windows, doors and even as an exterior material in some parts. If you wish to retain privacy then you may use colored glass pieces, or else you may use transparent glass pieces and let in natural elements.

Unique applications – Glass can be used to decorate your home through various accent pieces. You may place a glass photo frame on a side table or keep a glass vase with some flowers on the dining table. Alternatively, you may also hang glass paintings on your walls.

Decorating Ideas for your child's room

1.To help your kids stay organized, keep things at their height. Closet storage, benches and coat racks will all be used more often if kids can get to them easily. This is a tried and tested technique that really does work. I have a six year old, and when she cant easily get to her favorite pair of shorts or a favorite shirt she will completely ransack the whole room until she finds what she's looking for!

2. Look for a craft or hobby store that sells paint that glows in the dark. Try painting stars and a moon on your child's ceiling or other fun shapes around the edge of the room. This will aslo help aleviate your child from afraid to turn out the lights at bedtime!

3. We all know from one parent to another that our children love to collect things, so make collecting easy. Pictures and postcards don't always have to dominate your refrigerator or get stuffed into homework desks. Try hanging them from strings in front of a window or clipping them to a string along the wall to create an interesting border in a room. I do this project with my child frequently. We love to hang up her collectibles for each season of the year. Christmas is her favorite time to do this!!!!

4. If you are painting a dresser or other furniture you know your child will grow out of soon, be sure to let them help. Your child could also put their very own John Hancock on it with their personal handprints or fingerprints for a polka-dot design and you dont have to worry about them destroying the furniture. Kids love this!

5. Overall lighting is a necessity but most of all make sure your child's room is well lit so that they can  find the bathroom in the middle of the night. You can find all kinds of decorative night lights for kids room in any of your local retailers that sell home goods and decor. My daughter loves the Disney Princess themed night lights!

Country Style Home Decorating

Country furnishings vary, but they have this in common: They're never around just to impress the neighbors or fill up space.
Fresh country style means fewer things to dust and dry-clean, fuss with or have fall over, but they're better pieces, carefully chosen to meet our needs, both physical and emotional.
Originally, country homes were furnished with whatever was practical and at hand. If you're looking at a bureau from your grandmother's house, a table from your parents' first apartment, and a pair of flea market side chairs you bought years ago, you will realize things haven't changed all that much.
If a piece still works, there's a tendency to hang onto it. What is different is that today we have the luxury of combining practicality with choices influenced by an educated eye and personal flair. Where you've been tells part of your story, but so does the way you mix up heirlooms and hand-me-downs with your own favorite finds, new or old.
